Hepworth Lodge (Liberty Park)

Located just a 10-minute walk from the city centre and under 20 minutes on foot from the city’s main universities, Hepworth Lodge is a fantastic home for the 564 students that live there.

Leave your flat behind for a while and you’ll be able to make the most of sunny days in the external courtyard, or head into the city centre, which is just a short walk away. You’ll never be short of things to do here. Dozens of high street and independent shops are spread out across the city centre, while a range of bars and nightclubs ensure you can party into the night if you want to.

Want to switch off for an afternoon? Two multi-screen cinemas call the city centre home, while Leeds Art Gallery and The Henry Moore Insttute are only a 10-minute walk away from Hepworth Lodge and have free entry.

Hepworth Lodge is located in a central location in the vibrant city of Leeds, just a 10 minute walk from the busy city centre and a short 10-15 minute walk to the city’s main higher educational establishments. The position of the residence means you will never be far from the diverse and exciting social scene the city has to offer.

If you’re looking to eat out, or aren’t in the mood to cook there are absolutely loads of fabulous restaurants available locally. TGI Friday’s and a Chinese restaurant are a short walk away, and there is also a local pub called The Fox and Newt which does great food and hosts live bands every week.

The city centre is around a 10 minute walk from Hepworth Lodge and is home to an assortment of national chain restaurants, such as Nando’s, Wagamama, Cafe Rouge, and Gourmet Burger Kitchen.

In regards to nightlife, there is literally something for everyone. Leeds not only has the usual big name bars and nightclubs found in most big cities, but also some locally owned independent bars and clubs.

Call Lane and Albion Street are extremely popular with students and have a range of bars to enjoy throughout the week. Some favourites include: Revolution, Norman Bar, Jake's Bar, Tiger Tiger, Bar Chick, Yates’s, and The Backroom Leeds.

Some of Leeds’ most popular nightclubs include: Space, Mission, Hifi Club and Key Club, all of which can be found within the city centre where there is an event on every night of the week.

Hepworth Lodge is located on Marlborough Street, a 10 minute walk from the city centre of Leeds and the city’s higher educational establishments. There is plenty to see and do around the city that will keep you entertained during your time in University.

Hepworth Lodge is best suited for students studying at Leeds College, University of Leeds, Leeds Arts Universityand Leeds Beckett University. Each University is  within walking distance from the property – under 15 minutes away, making getting to lectures stress free.

Leeds has superb shopping facilities with various shopping malls, such as Trinity Leeds, The Merrion Centre, The Corn Exchange and hundreds of vintage boutiques. There are also a range of designer and high street shops in the city centre, and they’re only10 minutes’ walk from Hepworth Lodge.

If you like the outdoors and relaxing outside of lectures, visit Roundhay Park; one of the biggest parks in Europe. You’ll only have to travel 10 minutes on the bus from the accommodation, but it’s well worth a visit.

To get a snippet of Leeds’s history, visit The Hyde Park Picture House; Leeds’ purpose built 101-year-old cinema. It’s the only gas-lit cinema remaining in the UK, and is bursting full of history inside. It’s just 20 minutes away by bus, and it’s so quirky and such a different way to enjoy film that you’ll be sure to love it

If art is your thing, visit Leeds Art Gallery which houses the Henry Moore Centre for the Study of Sculpture – 10 minutes from Hepworth Lodge. Alternatively why not see what one of Leeds’ Museums has to offer? The Abbey House Museum, the Royal Armouries, and Leeds City Museum are all located just 15 minutes from the property, so you’ve no excuse not to take in a little culture!

The recently developed Waterfront is now a dining quarter called Granary Wharf, and you absolutely can’t miss out on the delights of Trinity Kitchen and its take on the classic food court and street food vibe. Finally, restaurants, cafés and bars also surround the Millennium Square, perfect to enjoy a bite to eat or drink in summer months.

If you like to keep in shape, there are many gyms local to the property. The nearest one to Hepworth Lodge is Spirit Health, and it’s just 5 minutes’ walk away so you can save your energy for when you get inside. Alternatively you can try Xercise 4 Less, which can be reached by foot in less than twenty minutes and less than ten on the bus.

If you like professional sports, Leeds United FC play at Elland Road – 5 minutes away in a taxi. Or, if football isn’t your thing, Yorkshire Country Cricket Club and Leeds Rhinos Rugby Club are a 10 minute taxi ride away at Headingley and the energy is always really exciting on match days.

If walking and the outdoors are your thing, you should take full advantage of being in the Yorkshire Dales and go explore the beautiful scenic surroundings.

There are more than 100 tennis courts in the parks around the city, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and cricket and rugby pitches to enjoy. Whatever you enjoy, Leeds has something to suit everyone.

Hepworth Lodge is ideally located just 10 minutes’ walk from the city centre, and within walking distance to the city’s higher educational establishments. Our student accommodation is also served by loads of public transport links too, meaning getting to University is easier than ever.

The bus system in the city provides an affordable and reliable service with a MetroCard available to students. The bus stops for the area are located a few moments along the road, next to Park Lane College. Some important bus services for the area include;

Number 19 and 19A – Hepworth Lodge to Leeds train station (every 15 minutes)

Leeds City Bus – University of Leeds, Leeds Beckett University, Leeds City College, train station and bus station (every 8-10 minutes)

Leeds’ main train station is located in the city centre – 15 minutes’ walk from Hepworth Lodge. Other big cities like London can be reached in 2 hours 20 minutes, Newcastle in 1 hour 30 minutes and Manchester in under an hour.

For those who live outside of the UK, Leeds has its own airport, 20 minutes away in a taxi – Leeds Bradford Airport. The airport provides a range of widespread routes across the rest of the UK, Europe and Internationally.

Alternatively, if you want to skip buses and trains, why not hop on a bike and explore Leeds? There are an increasing number of cycle lanes around due to the Tour de France starting in Leeds in 2014.

Hepworth Lodge is within easy reach of all local amenities and it’s just a stone’s throw away from the city centre.

There are several supermarkets close by to the residence; Tesco Express, Nisa, and Morrison’s are all under 20 minutes’ walk away enabling you to keep your cupboards fully stocked up with ease.

Nearly all banks can be found in the city centre of Leeds – a 10 minute walk from your student accommodation. These include; HSBC, NatWest, Barclay’s, Santander and more. Additionally, you can also find a Post Office and Bureau de Change.

Leeds College and Leeds Beckett University both have great library facilities on campus to guide you through your studies, with all necessary resources and 24-hour computer rooms.

You will be able to receive free confidential advice regarding finances, careers and general welfare when studying at any of Leeds' universities. Hepworth Lodge is located close to campus so you will never be too far from the help you may need. 

The nearest GP Surgery to the residence is Hyde Park Medical Centre on Woodsley Road, and it’s only15 minutes’ walk from Hepworth Lodge so be sure to take care of yourself.

For any emergencies, Leeds General Infirmary Hospital is a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk from the property should you need any urgent medical assistance.
