Being just 20 minutes away from the University of Leicester and 15 minutes from De Montfort University, Liberty Park is ideally located for anyone studying in the city.

Liberty Park is home to 690 students and has a range of shared flats and studios. Pick an en-suite room for your own bathroom and a shared kitchen/living area, or opt for a studio if you want to live independently, with your own kitchen facilities in your room. There’s also an option to share one of our Premium Range 3 en-suite rooms with just one other student, while still having a bathroom to yourself.

Outside of your flat you’ll have access to a large common room, which has its very own foosball, air hockey and pool tables, plus plenty of comfortable seating. A fully-equipped gym and supermarket are also on-site, making life a whole lot easier.

Need to do a big food shop? A large Morrisons supermarket is 15 minutes away by foot. Next to it, you’ll also find an ODEON cinema and a Nando’s - ideal for unwinding after a hard day. Take the 20 minute walk into the city centre and you’ll find all your favourite high street shops and eateries spread through Haymarket Shopping Centre and the surrounding streets.

Liberty Park’s central location to the city centre and to the city’s higher educational establishments means you will never miss out on Leicester’s social or academic aspects during your time at University.

The Student Union of De Montfort University is a short 10 minute walk from the residence and hosts a range of events throughout the academic year. The Student Union features three bars, including; The Factory, The Lounge and Level 1. If you want to be seen, the busiest nights are Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The closest bars to Liberty Park are Soar Point and The Bowling Green Pub, just a few minutes’ walk away, and both are open until late. For a bigger selection, head into the city centre where you will find an array of nightclubs, bars and pubs. MOSH and Republic are some of Leicester’s most popular nightclubs, especially with the student crowds.

The city centre has a range of restaurants, from national chain favourites, including; Nando’s, Café Rouge and TGI Friday’s to some independently owned treasures featuring cuisines from all over the world. Highcross Leicester is 10 minutes’ walk away and has some great places to dine out if you aren’t in the mood to cook. Ed’s Diner, Coast to Coast, ChimiChanga’s and Bill’s are just a few of the restaurants featured in the shopping centre.

Narborough Road is just over a 10 minute walk from the accommodation and has a vast range of restaurants and takeaways convenient to the residence, showcasing the vast diversity of the city. For speciality Asian cuisines visit Belgrave Road; it has a range of Asian restaurants famous for their superb twist on the food.

Liberty Park is best located for students studying at De Montfort University, however it can also accommodate students of The University of Leicester. De Montfort University is located a 10 minute walk from the residence and University of Leicester is a 25 minute walk or 10 minutes via bus.

Liberty Park’s location means that you will never be far from the exciting activities Leicester has to offer. No matter what you’re into, there will be something to suit everyone’s tastes and budgets.

You’ll be vaguely familiar with Richard 3rd from all those history lessons in school. He was an old King of England, and his remains were bizarrely found in a local car park in Leicester. You can visit the site – it’s just a short walk away. There are also other museums along New Walk, as well as the fascinating Space Centre on your doorstep.

For those who enjoy the theatre, Leicester has a total of four, so you’ll be guaranteed to find something to suit your taste. Leicester also has a variety of festivals which take place including the Caribbean Carnival Festivaland the annual Comedy Festival in February, showcasing a mixture of talent and comedians, old and new in the theatres.

The city has a range of museums you can explore, including; the New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, Guildhall Museum, Jewry Wall Museum, and the University of Leicester Botanic Garden (all main attractions of Leicester).

Highcross Leicester is a 10 minute walk away and offers a range of shops, restaurants and bars to indulge in. The shopping centre has three department stores, which include; Debenhams, John Lewis and Zara. More high street named shops can be found at Haymarket shopping mall – 10 minutes away. For some independent shops, Leicester is home to St Martin’s Square and Silver Street which offer individual and quaint gift shops.

Western Park is a 10 minute drive from the residence, if you like to relax between lectures. The park offers a range of activities, which include a play area, a woodland walk, a bandstand, tennis court, bowl greens, a cycle trail and it even hosts many fun day events.

If you like to keep fit, Liberty Park has its very own gym on-site exclusively for its residents, and the best part is that it's included in your rent! The gym is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you're looking for something different, there's a PureGym opposite the residence containing all the latest fitness equipment, and it’s open at all times, day or night.

De Montfort University has their very own leisure centre, available to students and is home to a range of facilities, which include; a swimming pool, climbing wall, gym area, dance studio, and a sauna.

For fans of professional sport, Leicester has a range of high profile teams, including; Leicester City Football Club, Leicestershire County Cricket Club and the Leicester Tigers Rugby Club which are all based in the city.

Liberty Park is located on Dyke’s Road, less than a 10 minute walk from De Montfort University, and a 15 minute walk to the city centre of Leicester.

Leicester train station is located in the centre, 20 minutes’ walk from Liberty Park. A number of UK destinations can be reached quickly, as Leicester is located near enough in the middle of the UK. Leicester to London takes approximately 1 hour 10 minutes, so you can whisk yourself away for a quick jaunt to the capital.

For those that live outside of the UK, the nearest airports are East Midlands Airport (around an hour away) and Birmingham Airport (about 1 hour and 30 minutes away). Both airports offer many different flights across the world.

Taxi services in the area are cheap and Uber runs in the city too, so getting home in the evening can be done safely and securely.

Liberty Park is surrounded by a large selection of services, meaning popping to the shop for your essentials can be done with ease.

For supermarkets; there is a CostCutter a few seconds away and a small Tesco opposite De Montfort University. Morrison’s is also within walking distance and is opposite the King Power Stadium (Leicester City football ground). There is also a Nando’s, Local Hero pub, bingo and a cinema.

Banks, Bureau de Change and local shopping facilities are on Narborough Road, with the city centre just 5 minutes’ walk from the University. Highcross Leicester is the main shopping centre and it has a range of restaurants and shops inside.

The University of Leicester and De Montfort University both have libraries on campus, with all the necessary resources available to complete your degree.

You will be able to receive free confidential advice regarding finances, careers and general welfare when studying at any of Leicester’s universities. Liberty Park is located close to campus so you will never be too far from the help you may need. 

DMU has a surgery dedicated to their students, which is based at the University – 5 minutes’ walk away.

For any emergencies, Leicester Royal Infirmary is on Walnut Street and has an A&E as well as a walk-in centre, and it’s just a 10 minute walk from the residence should you need any urgent medical assistance.
