Just a short bus or train ride away from all three of Birmingham’s universities, Queen’s Hospital Close is home to 337 students. With the vibrant city centre just 10 minutes away, it’s perfectly located.

Want to live with a friend? Choose one of our two bed flats and you’ll have your own space to call home, complete with two bedrooms, a living room and a fully-equipped kitchen. Otherwise, go for an en-suite room and you’ll have a bathroom to yourself, plus a communal kitchen and living space.

Away from your flat, a large common room has comfortable seats and activities like pool and foosball, giving you the space to relax with friends. You’ll also find a courtyard area outside.

Queen’s Hospital Close is located in the heart of Birmingham’s University district in the popular area of Edgbaston. The residence is just a 15 minute walk from the city centre and within easy walking distance of the cities universities. If you prefer, you can also get around thanks to the excellent transport links as well.

Birmingham is known for being one of the liveliest spots in the UK for night life. For a selection of bars and clubs, Broad Street has everything you need and is only a 5 minute walk away. Just a few student favourites include Players, Revolution, 6, Popworld and Birmingham’s own super club Pryzm – offering four floors and 9 bars worth of fun.

As well as nightlife, Birmingham boasts a range of well known restaurants on Broad Street and throughout the city centre. These include Nando's, Rub Smokehouse, Bodega and many more. If it’s a cocktail your after you’d be spoilt for choice in Birmingham with bars including Be at One, The Botanist, or you can head over to The Alchemist for some amazing concoctions!

For live music visit the Birmingham O2 Academy, located just a 10 minute walk from the residence. The O2 Academy has played host to many famous artists including Imagine Dragons, The Artic Monkeys, Ne-Yo and literally thousands more across all genres. Alternatively, Digbeth is well known for its live music scene, and plays host to the popular Digbeth Dining Club, an award winning street food event. 

Birmingham is thriving with entertainment venues. The NEC, Birmingham Hippodrome, and The Barclaycard Arena are all within easy reach from the residence. The NEC is widely known in Birmingham for staging concerts, sporting events, conferences and much more. The NEC can be reached by train in 10 minutes from Birmingham Grand Central and Five Ways stations.

Queen’s Hospital Close is located  on Bath Row in Edgbaston and is ideally suited for students studying at The University of Birmingham, Birmingham City University and University College of Birmingham. However, it also caters for students at Aston University (Millennium Point) and the Brasshouse Language School (Broad Street).

The Bullring Shopping Centre can be found in the city centre, and is one of the largest indoor shopping centres in Europe. There are three floors with over 160 stores available, so you will never be short of choice. Additionally, The Mailbox is another of Birmingham’s shopping centres and is home to big fashion retailers like Harvey Nichols and the historic Jewellery Quarter, which hosts over 100 specialist jewellery retailers, designers and craftspeople. 

The world famous Rag Markets are located behind the Bullring, and are open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Here you'll find a variety of different stalls from selling everything from jewellery and fabric to souvenirs. 

The Birmingham Royal Ballet is based at the Hippodrome, and if you enjoy music, the Symphony Hall is home to the world class city of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

If you’re a chocolate lover, you’ve come to the right place. Birmingham is home to the world famous Cadbury’s chocolate factory, and luckily it’s only a short 15 minute taxi ride away. Cadbury World offers visitors a guided tour, with some delicious free samples – definitely worth a visit during your free time.

The Black Country Living Museum is an open-air Museum in Dudley located a 30 minute car drive from Queen’s Hospital Close. The museum has preserved some important buildings from the local areas. Additionally, Hurst Street features the last of the surviving back-to-back houses, where you can get a real taste of Birmingham’s history. These are located 15 minutes’ walk away from the residence.

The Waterhall Gallery of Modern Art is less than a 20 minute walk away and is one of Birmingham’s newest venues for contemporary art.

Birmingham has 571 parks and open spaces, more than any other European city. One of Birmingham's most popular parks is Cannon Hill Park. It has loads to see and do and it's less than a 10 minute drive from the residence.

If you like to catch up on the latest blockbusters, visit the Cineworld on Broad Street. It's a multi-screen venue and is only 5 minutes' walk away. 

Queen’s Hospital Close is located less than 10 minutes’ walk from Pure Gym. The gym is open 24/7 and offers the latest fitness equipment and a range of classes to choose from, all at competitive rates for students.

If football is your thing then you’re in luck. Birmingham is home to Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City football clubs. If you ever have the opportunity, a local derby game is a must-see!

The Barclaycard Arena is well-known in Birmingham. It hosts many national sporting events and has been the venue of choice for some of the highest calibre competitions, including the Olympics.

Birmingham is also a focal point for British athletics and home to one of England’s top cricket grounds at Edgbaston.

Cannon Hill Park is a 35 minute walk away with plenty of open space and running tracks. A weekly Park Run event is held here every Saturday at 9am and is free to register and join in. It’s time to dig out those trainers!

Queen’s Hospital Close is located just a 15 minute walk from the city centre and close to the many transport links on offer, making it easy to get around Birmingham and beyond.

Birmingham New Street is at the heart of the UK and is the city's major railway hub with direct links to all other major cities in the UK. In only 1 hour and 30 minutes you can reach the capital, London as well as the lively Liverpool. Additionally, Five Ways station is a 5 minute walk from the residence and serves the town centre and The University of Birmingham.

For those travelling from abroad, Birmingham Airport is a 20 minute drive away and the station there connects with all other Birmingham train stations to save on taxi fares.

The city has an excellent bus system, making it easy to get around locally. Birmingham is also on the Megabus and National Express routes, perfect for a quick trip home for the weekend to see friends and family.

23/24/29 (Bus Stop: Five Ways, (Stop FD), Fiveways Shopping) runs towards Birmingham City University, City South Campus and the city centre approximately every 15-20 minutes from 8am – 7pm.

80 (Bus Stop: Bexhill Grove) runs approximately every 20 minutes towards the city centre.

98 (Bus Stop: Bexhill Grove) runs approximately every 20 minutes between 8am – 7pm towards University of Birmingham and city centre. Last service approximately 11pm.

99 (Bus Stop: Bexhill Grove) runs approximately every 20 minutes between 8am – 7pm towards University of Birmingham and city centre. Last service approximately 11pm.

Queen’s Hospital Close is conveniently located near a selection of local supermarkets. There is a Tesco Express which is approximately a 3 minute walk away and additionally there is a larger Morrison’s supermarket located on Hagley Road, under a 15 minute walk from the residence.

The local area also houses a range of takeaways for all taste buds including Chinese, Kebab Houses, Indian and many more, so you’ll never be forced to go hungry!

The nearest library is The Library of Birmingham and is located 15 minutes’ walk from the residence; it's open 6 days a week and is perfect for some quiet studying time.

There are several high street banks including Lloyds Bank which is located at Five Ways and Barclays is located near Morrisons on Hagley Road, both of which are a 7 minute walk from the residence.

The city’s universities offer free confidential advice on careers, financial worries, and student welfare or anything else which you may need help with. 

In case of an emergency, the nearest Hospital to the residence is Birmingham City Hospital located on Dudley Road, only a 10 minute ride in a taxi.

The local GP’s Surgery to Queen’s Hospital Close is Bath Row Medical Centre, and is located less than 5 minutes’ walk away. Additionally, there is a pharmacy located in Bath Row Medical Centre, and a Boots pharmacy on Broad Street less than a 5 minute walk away.
